Verdict in kidnapping and rape case came after 11 years

Auraiya. In Auraiya, Additional District and Sessions Judge Fast Track I Atiq Uddin on Tuesday gave his verdict in the 11-year-old kidnapping and rape case from Bidhuna police station area. The case was related to a minor girl. Gaurav Mishra was found guilty on the basis of evidence and witnesses. Now he has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 56 thousand was also imposed. According to DGC Abhishek Mishra and ADGC Mukesh Porwal, who are prosecuting the case on behalf of the prosecution, the victim’s mother had lodged a report at Bidhuna police station. The report said that her 15-year-old daughter went missing on the evening of 6 July 2012.

When she was not found for several days, a missing report was lodged in Bidhuna police station. Later, Vadini started receiving calls for ransom and other demands to return the victim. On the basis of this, the police reached the main accused Gaurav Mishra, resident of New Basti Bidhuna and presented the charge sheet against him in the court in the case of kidnapping and rape. The decision of this case will be given by A.D.J. on Tuesday. Fast track court did it. On behalf of the prosecution, ADGC Mukesh Porwal argued for strict punishment to the culprit. The defense side declared him innocent. After listening to both the parties, ADJ Atiq Uddin sentenced Gaurav Mishra, guilty of kidnapping and rape, to a total of 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 56 thousand on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of 6 months. The court ordered the victim to pay half of the fine recovered. Gaurav, who was sentenced, was sent to Etawah District Jail.
