Venture Global could become the next largest US LNG producer

World World: Venture Global, a startup just three years old, could become the biggest producer of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) by next year if it moves forward with its CP2 project in Louisiana and ramps up production at existing plants. The company currently has a total LNG production capacity of 38.5 million metric tonnes per year (mtpa) from two operational plants in Louisiana.
The company aims to increase this capacity to 66.5 mtpa from the 28 mtpa output of its new CP2 plant. If completed, the project would put the company ahead of Cheniere Energy’s 60 mtpa plant.
Venture Global has built plant components at factories and then assembled them at US sites to quickly build the plants, giving it an edge over its competitors.
