Vehicles worth crores are gathering dust in Chhattisgarh, Congress MLA seeks answer from the government

Raipur: It is the fourth day of the budget session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and today there was a lot of uproar in the House over the spying of PCC Chief Deepak Baij. At the same time, the opposition members have decided to boycott the Congress House for the whole day over this issue. Let us tell you that PCC Chief Deepak Baij has accused two policemen of Dantewada of spying on him. At the same time, the opposition MLA has sought an answer from the government on another important issue on the floor of the Assembly today.
In fact, recently this matter came to light that 400 Bolero purchased for Dial 112 is becoming junk while standing. At the same time, Congress MLA Indra Saw has sought an answer from the government in the Assembly on this issue. Indra Saw, while raising a question on the floor of the House, said that did the Home Department buy 400 Bolero vehicles by spending more than Rs 400 crore for Dial 112 Emergency? If yes, then was the tender issued by the department for its operation for Dial 112 for 400 Bolero vehicles? If yes, then what is the current status of operation of vehicles and where are these 400 Bolero vehicles right now?
In response to this question of MLA Indra Sao, Home Minister Vijay Sharma, while presenting a written reply, said that on 29 December 2023, 374 Bolero were purchased for Dial 112 Emergency at a cost of Rs 32,91,51,305. Tender was issued on 12.06.2023 for the second phase of Dial 112. He told that all the vehicles have been kept safe in the 3rd Vahini and the scheme is to be implemented. He told that the selection process of the company for the implementation of the scheme is going on.
Now the thing to think about is that 374 vehicles which have been purchased at a cost of Rs 32,91,51,305 are gathering dust for the last 14 months. At the same time, one more thing to note is that the government has not been able to select a company for a sensitive service like Dial 11 even after more than one and a half years. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether these vehicles will become junk just by standing idle? Or will the government be able to implement the plan.
