Schools and Anganwadi Centers Closed
In view of the forecast for heavy rain and to ensure the safety of children, the administration declared a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centers in Dehradun on Tuesday. Officials stated that this decision was taken by prioritizing the safety of the children.
Parents have also been urged to exercise caution given the prevailing weather conditions. The administration has instructed the concerned departments to remain on high alert.
Growing Concern in Low-Lying Areas
Residents of the city’s low-lying areas are concerned following the rainfall. There are fears that waterlogging could worsen if the rain continues. People faced difficulties in several locations due to slow water drainage.
Locals have urged the administration to strengthen the drainage system. They point out that this issue recurs every monsoon season, yet no permanent solution has been found.
