Entertainment: Mega Prince Varun Tej made some interesting remarks at the launch event of his sister Niharika Konidela’s upcoming film “Baari.” Responding to a question about legacy, he said that he never differentiates between men and women and is proud to see Niharika grow as a producer.
He also revealed that the project was launched with the blessings of Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, which greatly boosted the team’s confidence.
In the film, Varun Tej will be seen as a professional volleyball player. He revealed that he has been training in volleyball for the past seven months to portray the role realistically, rather than just playing the sport for the film. He said that pre-production work has been meticulously planned and he has full confidence in the story.
Varun also clarified that “Baari” is not just a sports drama, but will focus on emotional elements that will connect with all segments of the audience. Directed by Yadu Vamsi, the film is set against a village backdrop and is expected to have a very natural and down-to-earth feel.
This is Niharika Konidela’s first big-budget production, and the team is targeting a grand release during Sankranti 2027, believing the festive season is ideal for a family-oriented, emotional drama. Varun concluded by saying that the project is very special to him because it is produced by his sister, and he believes it will stand out as a unique film in his career.
