Himachal Pradesh: Industry, Parliamentary Affairs, Labor and Employment Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan today emphasized the state government’s commitment to holistic and value-based education. He presided over the annual prize distribution ceremony of Arihant International School, Nahan. Addressing the gathering, Chauhan said that the government strives to provide quality, ethical, and vocational education so that students become confident and capable individuals. He described annual school celebrations as a “true reflection of an institution,” where meritorious students are honored for their excellence and other students are inspired to achieve even greater things. Chauhan urged students to set clear life goals with determination and participate not only in academics but also in sports, cultural, and extracurricular activities for their all-round development. He also reminded the audience that teachers are a true source of inspiration for society and appealed to teachers and parents to educate children about the ills of drug abuse and create a clean and healthy social environment. He informed the gathering that to strengthen the educational infrastructure and instill confidence in students, the state government has introduced English-medium education from Class 1 in all government schools. From the next academic session, 100 government senior secondary schools in the state will also be affiliated with the CBSE board. Chauhan said that a recruitment process is underway to fill 7,000 vacant positions across the state to address the teacher shortage. Acknowledging the role of private institutions, he said that both government and private schools are essential pillars in the collective effort to improve educational standards in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki praised Arihant International School, calling it one of the leading educational institutions in Sirmaur district, known for its quality education, strong moral values, and creativity. He said that such institutions lay the foundation for a bright future and serve as exemplary models of discipline, leadership, and character building.
