The Dabolim Airport Police registered a case against a 63-year-old woman from Valpoi, Sattari for allegedly possessing two live bullets of .22 mm in her hand bag.
The bullets were seized during the security check and screening of luggage procedure at the airport on Saturday evening. The woman was proceeding from Goa to Mumbai when her hand bag was frisked.
After Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel found the live bullets in her possession, CISF Inspector Ankur Yadav took her to the police station and lodged a complaint against the woman.
Based on the complaint filed by Inspector Ankur Yadav, the Dabolim Airport Police registered a case against the woman under Sections 3 read with 25 of the Arms Act, 1959. Under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), the police issued a notice to the woman, seeking her appearance before the investigation officer.
Further investigations are on under the guidance of Dabolim Airport PI Vinayak Patil, police said.
