Uttar Pradesh: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly shot and severely beaten by her husband after she rejected his marriage proposal in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, police said on Saturday. He told that Gyan Prakash (26), son of the woman’s maternal uncle, is making efforts. The woman Kotwali lived in her grandmother’s house in DM Colony below the Police Commissionerate area. She and Prakash studied law in the same university, said Lakshmi Niwas Mishra, additional superintendent of police (ASP). Just before six o’clock on Friday afternoon, Prakash stabbed his brother in the neck with a knife. The woman was admitted to the Faculty of Medicine of the government here. ASP said that his condition is said to be critical. “Investigation so far has revealed that Gyan Prakash wanted to marry her. When she reconsidered his marriage proposal he attacked her. They have registered a case against the accused and efforts are on to arrest him. Are doing”, said Mishra.
