UP CM Yogi Adityanath invites Odisha CM Mohan Majhi for Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj

Bhubaneswar: The world famous Maha Kumbh Mela will take place at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh this year. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has sent an invitation to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi to attend the fair.

Two ministers of Uttar Pradesh govt met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and handed over the invitation for the Maha Kumbh Mela. It is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 26.

The Maha Kumbh fair was last held in 2013, twelve years ago at Prayagraj. It will commence of January 13 with the Makar Sankranti snan (holy bath) and conclude on February 26 with the Mahasivaratri snan.

It is believed that taking a dip during the biggest fair frees men from all their sins. According to religious beliefs, drops of amrita fell at four locations during the churning between demons and gods. The religious fair takes place at these four locations of Haridwar, Ujjain, Prayagraj and Nashik. The Kumbh Mela is celebrated four times in 12 years rotating between these locations. This year it will be celebrated at Prayagraj.
