Gariaband. Divyang Anil Kumar Yadav, who lives in Ward No. 15 of Gariaband, has started a hunger strike for the second time by hanging a poster on his tricycle outside the Collectorate premises. Anil has demanded government help for his livelihood and treatment and has warned that if his demands are not met, he will demand euthanasia.
Anil Kumar Yadav had earlier also sat on a similar hunger strike a week ago, but he ended his hunger strike after the officers’ persuasion. Now, when no one took care of him again, he has started a hunger strike again. Anil is protesting in front of the administration with his two-point demand. First, he should be reinstated in the daily wages job and second, his disabled leg should be treated. Anil said that if this demand is not met, he will demand euthanasia in future.
In fact, Anil was working on a daily wage basis in the Forest Department from 2008 to 2017, he was suddenly fired from the job due to a problem in the brain. His wife also left the house. For the past few years, he has been somehow managing to survive by taking help from people he knows. The victim said that he is constantly requesting the government for help.
