Ukraine imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies

World World: Ukraine on Friday imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies it claimed were involved in the production of Russia’s Iskander missiles. The move came a day after President Volodymyr Zelensky accused China of supplying arms to Russia.

China’s Foreign Ministry on Friday called the accusations baseless. While China has maintained strong economic ties with Russia, it has tried to maintain an image of neutrality in the war and has denied any involvement in the war.

The Zelensky administration updated its sanctions list on Friday. The list includes Chinese companies called Beijing Aviation and Aerospace Xianghui Technology Co. Ltd., Rui Jin Machinery Co. Ltd. and Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Xining Co. Ltd.

Zelensky said these companies were involved in the production of Russia’s Iskander missiles, which Russia widely uses in warfare. Ukraine said on Friday that Iskander missiles struck Kharkiv, killing one person and injuring more than 100.
