World World: The UK government has approved the development of a 400 MW solar power (photovoltaic) project in East Yorkshire. The project is being developed by East Yorkshire Solar Farm Limited, which will produce enough electricity for about 1,00,000 homes.
Under this project, a connection will be installed at Drax substation to connect to the national electricity grid. Construction work for this connection may take about 12 months, while the construction of the solar power site is estimated to be completed in about two years.
This project reflects Britain’s growing commitment to the field of solar energy, which is not only important in terms of environmental protection but will also strengthen the country’s energy security.
