UDF returns to power in Kerala, VD Satheesan to take oath as Chief Minister on Monday

Kerala politics has witnessed a major shift, with the United Democratic Front (UDF) returning to power after a decade. Incumbent Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will be sworn in as the state’s new Chief Minister at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The entire 20-member cabinet will also be sworn in alongside him.

Administrative preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have been completed, and it is being considered a significant occasion for the state’s politics. The new government under V.D. Satheesan is expected to bring significant political and administrative changes to the state.

The new cabinet includes senior leaders from the Congress and its allies. Prominent names include veteran Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala, K. Muraleedharan, and KPCC President Sunny Joseph. Several senior leaders from the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) have also been included in the cabinet.

IUML leaders, including P.K. Kunhalikutty, P.K. Basheer, N. Samasudeen, K.M. Shaji, and V.E. Abdul Gafoor, are expected to hold important responsibilities in the new government. This coalition government is being widely discussed in political circles, as it presents an opportunity for the UDF to return to power after many years.

Political analysts believe that the new government, led by V.D. Satheesan, will face many challenges, including accelerating development projects, job creation, economic reforms, and strengthening the administrative system. Maintaining balance among all the coalition partners will also be a crucial responsibility.

A large number of political leaders, activists, and common people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Special security and order arrangements have been made in Thiruvananthapuram to ensure a peaceful event.

The UDF’s return is seen as the beginning of a new chapter in state politics. Previously, the LDF government had been in power for a long time, but the recent election results have changed the political dynamics.

At present, everyone’s eyes are fixed on the policies and decisions of the new government, which will decide in which direction the political and development direction of Kerala will go in the coming times.
