Karnataka : Over three lakh people are expected to attend the grand function organised to mark the completion of two years of the Congress government.
The Sadhana Samavesh programme, to be held in Hospet town, will be led by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Cabinet ministers and party leaders.
Several beneficiaries of government schemes are likely to attend, with the government distributing land ownership documents at the event. The government is targeting communities living in tandas and villages and the number of beneficiaries has been set at 1,11,111.
The Vijayanagara district administration has made all arrangements, including drinking water, parking and seating arrangements for 1.50 lakh people, besides providing free buses to reach the venue from various parts of the state. Over 3,000 police personnel and three SPs have been deployed for security.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has taken charge of the arrangements for the state government’s Sadhana Samavesha to be held in Hospet on Monday. According to Congress party supporters and workers, the second anniversary event is like a ‘Siddharamahotsava’.
