Jammu and Kashmir: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Udhampur, Jammu. The encounter took place in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that a top commander of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, Mavi alias Maviya, was killed in the firing. The operation was carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army and CRPF jawans.
The police had earlier received information about the presence of terrorists in the area. Recently, more crucial information about the terrorists was received by the Jammu Police through intelligence. With this, the police, army and CRPF have jointly launched a search operation there since Tuesday. A cordon search was conducted around the area. In this process, there was an exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security personnel. Two terrorists were killed in this incident. One of them was killed, while the details of the other are yet to be known. The police are still continuing the search operation in the area.
Information was received that the terrorists were hiding in a cave in the forest area here. It seems that the police blew up this cave. More information is awaited on this.
