Two people arrested for insulting Kabirpanth.

Kabirdham. Two accused have been arrested for hurting religious sentiments and issuing death threats. The accused had torn down banners and posters related to the Kabir Panth sect. They also used abusive language and threatened to kill the complainants. A case has been registered at Kawardha Police Station under crime number 532/2025, sections 298, 296, 351(3), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the complaint, Punit Jharia, son of Dhansay Jharia, 35 years old, a resident of Nawagaon, submitted a written application to Kawardha Police Station on December 12th. The application stated that on the morning of December 10th, at approximately 10:30 AM, the accused tore down banners and posters related to the Kabir Panth sect near the Kabir Chabutra (platform) in Nawagaon Chowk. The accused also used abusive language and threatened to kill the complainants if they reported the incident. This act created anger and religious unrest in the community.
Based on the application, a case was registered at Kawardha Police Station and an investigation was initiated. During the investigation, statements of the complainant and witnesses were recorded. The crime scene was inspected. The torn banners, posters, and a white flag were seized. The accused, Sohan Nath Shivopasak, son of Gaukar Nath Shivopasak, 49 years old, and Manharan Nath Yogi, son of Narayan Nath Yogi, 51 years old, both residents of Nawagaon, were arrested. Sohan Nath Shivopasak has previous cases registered against him under sections 107 and 116(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (cases 17/1999, 31/2012, and 231/2021). Manharan Nath Yogi also has previous cases registered against him under sections 451, 323, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (case number 74/1999) and under sections 107 and 116(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (case number 17/1999). Since the offense was of a non-bailable nature, the accused were presented before the court.
