Two patwaris suspended, action in land scam

Durg. A case of division of 765 acres of government and private land in Durg district through the state government’s online Bhuinya app has come to light. While two Patwaris have been suspended after being found involved in the case, 18 Patwaris have been transferred to other circles.

This entire matter is related to Murmunda Patwari circle of Durg district, in which the records of 765 acres of land in Murmunda village, Achoti village, Chetuwa and Borsi village have been manipulated. Half of the land in this is government and the rest is private. Government and private land was divided in a fraudulent manner and registered in the names of different persons. Not only this, many people have also taken loans from banks on the basis of fake records.

According to the officials, a big syndicate is suspected to be involved in the manipulation of land. The strings of the fraud are suspected to be connected to Raipur, Durg, Korba and other districts. Initial investigation has revealed that land records have been tampered with through the IDs of Patwari Manoj Nayak of Patan and Patwari Krishna Kumar Sinha posted in Ahiwara. After receiving information from NIC, both the Patwaris have been suspended.
