Raigarh. Two ganja smugglers have been arrested. Police station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Shanip Ratre received information from RPF that two suspicious persons were seen with the drug Ganja in a pittu bag outside the railway station. After the police station in-charge informed the senior officers about the possibility of ganja smugglers running away, a team of Kotwali police headed by sub-inspector Deepika Nirmalkar was immediately sent to the railway station.
Both the suspects were searched in the surrounding areas by the Kotwali police team along with the Railway Protection Force Task Team who were seen holding pittu bags in front of the Mahadev temple outside the railway station. The police surrounded and caught both the suspects, when interrogated they revealed their names – Gaurango Rajhans and Ramakant Suna, both residents of district Boudh (Orissa). The police team informed both of them about the raid and searched them, in which four packets of intoxicant ganja were recovered from the pittu bag of the suspect Gaurango Rajhans and one packet of ganja was recovered from the black pittu bag in the possession of Ramakant Suna. After weighing the seized ganja, a total of 5 kg ganja worth ₹ 60,000 was seized from the possession of the accused.
During interrogation, information was received that both the accused had brought ganja from Orissa to consume it in Raigarh. Accused – 01 Gaurango Rajhans, father Paiko Rajhans, age 30 years, Sakin village, near Khojroz Primary School, police station Manumuda, district Boudh (Orissa) 02. Ramakant Suna, father Lohabir Suna, age 28 years, Sakin village, behind London Poda Primary School, police station Kantamal, district Boudh (Orissa). Action has been taken under Section 20B NDPS Act at the Kotwali police station.
