Two farmers died after being hit by an unknown vehicle

Belagavi (Karnataka) 21 (IANS) | Two farmers were killed and two others injured after an unknown vehicle hit them in Karnataka’s Belagavi district on Friday. Police gave this information. The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Mahabaleshwar Shinde and 75-year-old Pundalika Redekara. Krishna Redekara (74) is seriously injured and has been admitted to the hospital. Manjunath Kaginakara (47) received minor injuries.

According to the police, the incident took place on the Dharwad-Ramnagar state highway in Godhuli village of Khanpur taluk.

According to the information, the farmers were going to release water for the sugarcane crop in their fields. The vehicle came from behind and hit them. After the incident, the driver did not stop the vehicle and fled from the spot.

Khanpura Congress MLA Anjali Nimbalkar visited the hospital and assured action against the culprits.

The police is investigating the matter
