Two arrested in Kokrajhar; illegal weapons recovered.

Assam: In a major operation, personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), acting in conjunction with the local police, arrested two individuals and recovered illegal weapons from their possession during a joint operation conducted on Monday, March 16, in the Choudhary Ghat area under Gossaigaon in the Kokrajhar district.

This operation was carried out by the Jamduar Border Out Post (BOP) of the SSB’s 31st Battalion (Gossaigaon), in coordination with personnel from the Sarabil Police Out Post, under the Assam Police.

According to officials, the operation was launched based on confidential intelligence inputs. Acting on this information, the joint team initiated a search operation in the area and apprehended two individuals found to be involved in suspicious activities.

The accused have been identified as Raban Soren and Outal Islahari. During the search, security personnel recovered two country-made weapons, two spears, arrows, and other incriminating items from their possession. The recovered weapons were seized in accordance with proper legal procedures.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Jeet Singh, Second-in-Command and Acting Commandant of the SSB’s 31st Battalion. The team was led by Deputy Commandant Pranav Shukla and included Assistant Commandant Navneet Prabhakar, Inspector (GD) Arjun Ekka, and other SSB personnel.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the local police for necessary legal action, and further investigations are underway.
