Kurnool : The police personnel of Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) have seized 61 non-duty paid (NDP) liquor bottles which were being illegally transported at Panchalingala border check-post here on Saturday afternoon. Circle Inspector Seshachalam Anumula speaking to the mediapersons said that following the instructions of the higher authorities, vehicle checking has been intensified at Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border check-post.
During the course of checking at Panchalingala check-post, the police personnel stopped a motor bike which was entering into Andhra Pradesh state from the adjacent Telangana state. The police personnel were taken aback on detecting the liquor bottles in milk cans. Two persons, one Gondiparla Mahesh and the other Gondiparla Kurva Mahesh, both residents of Pedda Tekur village in Kallur mandal were transporting the NDPL liquor bottles in the milk cans.
The police have seized the 61 liquor bottles of various brands, two milk cans and a motorbike.
The two persons were also taken into custody. A case under relevant sections has been filed and the case has been handed over to SEB station house officer for initiating further action, the CI said. Sub Inspector Jilani Basha, constables Madhusudhan, Ansar Basha, Prakash Rao and Nagendra were also present.
The Circle Inspector urged the people to keep the police informed about the illegal transportation of liquor, sand, gutkha and ganja. He said the police would never reveal the information of the informers.
