Two accused who set fire to shop and car arrested, police sent them on remand

Raigarh. Police have arrested two accused and sent them on remand in the case of setting fire to a shop and car in Bajirao Maharapara of Jute Mill police station area. Regarding this incident, the victim Durgesh Yadav (31) had lodged a complaint in the police station that on the night of February 22 at around 11:50 pm, a young man sprinkled kerosene on his general store, motorcycle and Ertiga car and set it on fire. In this arson, the Ertiga car was badly burnt and the shop was also damaged.
During the incident, the people nearby caught a young man, who was identified as Salim Khan father Jalil Ahmed resident Baisi Colony Dharamjaigarh. Police registered a case against the accused under section 326 (F) (G), 3 (5) of the Indian Justice Code under crime number 59/2025.
During the investigation, police station in-charge Mohan Bhardwaj and his team inspected the spot and scanned CCTV footage. During interrogation, accused Salim Khan admitted that he along with his partner Sudeep Dahriya carried out the incident. Both of them filled kerosene in a one-litre plastic bottle and sprinkled it on the shop and car and set it on fire with a matchstick. Police recovered empty bottles, matchboxes and other evidence from the spot.

Sudeep Dahriya father Hemlal Dahriya age 18 years 6 months resident Maudhapara Hanuman Temple near Ward No. 30 police station Jutmill Raigarh were arrested and produced in the court, from where they were sent on remand. Police is investigating the case further.
