SCR nears completion of 700 km third line, increasing capacity in key corridors

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) is nearing completion of its approximately 700-kilometer third rail line project. Completion of this project is expected to significantly improve capacity and operational efficiency on the region’s key rail corridors.

According to railway officials, the third line is being constructed primarily to ease traffic congestion on congested routes and streamline train movement. This will speed up the operation of both passenger and freight trains and save time.

The project covers several important routes that were already prone to delays and congestion due to high train traffic. The addition of the third line will provide additional trackage on these corridors, improving train movement flexibility.

The railway states that this expansion will also significantly benefit freight movement. It will provide fast and reliable transportation for industries and business activities, boosting regional economic development.

In addition, passenger amenities will also be improved. Train delays will be reduced, and travel will become more comfortable and timely. This project is considered an important step towards strengthening modern railway infrastructure.

Officials stated that the remaining work is being completed rapidly, and the entire 700 km third line will be operational soon.
