Inspector General of Police Raipur Range Raipur Amresh Mishra and Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh have given necessary directions to all the police gazetted officers of Raipur Police, station in-charges including in-charge anti-crime and cyber unit to take action by finding out those who play and make others gamble/betting and to effectively curb it. On which all the police gazetted officers, station in-charges including the team of anti-crime and cyber unit are collecting information in this regard by deploying informers, patrolling and collecting information.
In this connection, on 24.03.25, the team of anti-crime and cyber unit received information that in HMT Chowk located at Mominpara under police station Azad Chowk area, 02 persons are operating satta through slips by betting on numbers. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Azad Chowk Police Station went to the said place and identified the persons matching the description given by the informer and surrounded and caught them. During interrogation, the persons told their names to be Ghulam Askari and Sunny Vishwakarma of Raipur district. When the team members searched both of them, satta-patti and its accounts were found with them. On which the accused Ghulam Askari and Sunny Vishwakarma were arrested and satta-patti and cash amount of Rs 18,500/- was seized from their possession and action was taken by registering a crime against the accused in Azad Chowk Police Station under crime number 79/2025 CG Gambling Prohibition Act section 6 (a).
