US: Former US President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticised India, calling the country a country that breaks import tariffs, but also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘wonderful guy’. GOP leader Trump spoke publicly for the first time after the recent assassination attempt and announced that he will meet Prime Minister Modi during the Indian leader’s upcoming three-day visit to the United States next week. Prime Minister Modi will be in the US from September 21 to 23 for the annual Quad summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Delaware. Pointing to India’s high tariffs on imports, Trump said, “So if India is a big offender.

I mean, “Many of these leaders are fantastic.” Trump made the remarks while responding to a question about trade in Flint, Michigan. “They have a great mind. They’re not far behind at all. You know the saying: They’re on top – and they use it to their advantage against us.
