Truck drivers protest against hit and run bill

Una. The driving class has come out on the streets in protest against the new law made by the Central Government regarding hit and run cases. The drivers have started an indefinite strike outside the Indian IOCL dump located at Pekhubela in Una district. The drivers have bluntly warned that their protest will continue until this law is withdrawn. Due to the drivers’ strike, no vehicle went inside the IOCL depot the whole day today. Due to which petrol and diesel could not be supplied. The effect of the drivers’ strike was seen in IOCL LPG plant Mehatpur. There also gas supply was affected today. Truck Drivers Union President Shiv Kumar said that the Central Government has amended the law.

In which, if the driver runs away after a road accident, he will be punished with 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 7 lakh. He said that truck drivers work for Rs 10 to 12 thousand. The government has made such a strict law. If someone meets with a road accident then how will the driver pay such a heavy fine. He said that if the drivers had lakhs of rupees, would they work for someone for Rs 10-12 thousand? He said that during road accidents, drivers have to run away to avoid the wrath of the crowd. The government has made the law, but the interests of the drivers have not been considered. Truck drivers Sushant, Rinku, Satnam, Pankaj, Sahil etc. said that the strike of truck drivers will continue until the Central Government withdraws this law and similarly, along with the supply of petrol and diesel, the supply of LPG will also be completely stopped. Will be done.
