New Delhi: Congress has taken the lead in the initial trends of Haryana vote counting. Congress is leading on 48 seats while BJP is leading on 16 seats. Apart from this, JJP is leading on two seats and INLD is also leading on two seats.
Counting of votes will be held on Tuesday for the 90-member assembly seats of Haryana. Counting of votes has started at 8 am. In the elections held in Haryana today, the fate of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Congress’s Vinesh Phogat will be decided.
A total of 1,031 candidates, including 464 independents and 101 women, are in the fray for 90 seats in Haryana. Voting for these seats was held in a single phase on October 5. 67.90 percent voting took place in the state. This time BJP is hoping for a hat-trick of victory in the state while Congress is hoping to return to power after a decade. The main contestants in this election are BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, INLD-BSP and JJP-Azad Samaj Party.
