Raipur/Bijapur. An encounter took place today between police and Naxalites in Tekalgudem village, the border area of Sukma and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh, in which 3 soldiers were martyred. 15 soldiers have also been injured. Six Naxalites have also been killed. The Naxalites were also successful in taking away the bodies of these Maoists. This was confirmed by Bastar IG P. Sundarraj. CM Vishnudev Sai has expressed grief over the martyrdom of 3 soldiers.
8 soldiers injured in the encounter have been brought to Raipur by helicopter. The injured soldiers were brought through a green corridor from the airport to Shri Narayan Hospital in Devendra Nagar and Balaji Hospital in Mova, where all are undergoing treatment. Seven soldiers have been admitted to the Medical College Jagdalpur for treatment. CRPF Cobra 201 battalion soldiers Rawat Omprakash, Malkit Singh, T Madhu Kumar and Avinash Sharma have been admitted to Narayana Hospital in Raipur, where treatment has started for all.
