Moradabad. Moradabad-Aligarh National Highway will emerge from Gajgola Nanakbari village located at the zero point of Delhi-Lucknow Asian Highway. This proposed four-lane highway will be connected to the under construction ring road of Aligarh. This ambitious project, about 114.950 kilometers long, will pass through 129 gram sabhas of the area. The objective of the project is to improve road connectivity between Moradabad and Aligarh and provide fast, safe and convenient transportation to the passengers.
The process of construction of the proposed Greenfield Access Controlled Highway between Moradabad-Aligarh is progressing rapidly. The highway will start from Moradabad and reach Aligarh via Amroha, Sambhal and Bulandshahr. Its construction will develop direct and better road connectivity between many important districts of Western Uttar Pradesh. It is also expected to help in reducing the increasing traffic pressure on old routes.
Being a greenfield highway, most of it will be developed on the new route. Under the access controlled system, the movement of vehicles on the highway will be from designated entry and exit points. This is likely to reduce accidents caused by uncontrolled cutting and crossing the road. With the construction of a four-lane road, the speed of vehicles will improve and the travel time between Moradabad and Aligarh will also be reduced.
The most important thing about the project is that the highway will be connected to the Delhi-Lucknow Asian Highway. Its route is proposed to start from zero point near Gajgola Nanakbari village. On the other hand, in Aligarh it will be connected to the ring road under construction. This will provide a better option to vehicles coming from Delhi-Lucknow route to reach Aligarh and areas beyond.
129 gram sabhas will come under the purview of this 114.950 km long highway. There may be a major change in road connectivity in the areas through which the highway will pass. People of rural areas will have easy access to the district headquarters and major cities. The new route can also prove useful for transportation of agricultural produce, industrial goods and other goods.
Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Bulandshahr and Aligarh are important districts of western Uttar Pradesh. A large number of passenger and commercial vehicles move between these districts every day.
