Transporter Arvind Singh gets bail from High Court, accused in liquor scam

Bilaspur. Transporter Arvind Singh, accused of liquor scam worth Rs 2,000 crore, has got bail from the High Court. Senior advocate Rajiv Srivastava, appearing for the accused in the bench of Justice PP Sahu, said that the entire action has been registered by the ED on the basis of income tax raid. There is no case of money laundering in this. The Supreme Court has already given a stay in this. Apart from this, ED has presented the challan in the case. In such a situation, keeping the petitioner in jail is a violation of his constitutional rights. After hearing all the parties, the bench accepted the bail petition.

It may be noted that in the alleged liquor scam that took place during the previous Congress regime, the ED had arrested transporter Arvind Singh from a Muktidham in Bhilai on June 12, 2023, when he had come to offer funeral pyre to his mother. Before this, ED was searching for Arvind Singh. EG claims that between 2019 and 2022, liquor was sold in liquor shops by installing fake holograms. There was nexus between liquor manufacturing companies, bottle and hologram manufacturing companies.
