THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar is all set to implement new reforms in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). Will appoint a house keeping wing to wash the buses. They will examine the cleanliness of the bus. The minister also informed that a powerful compressor has been purchased for washing the buses. The issuing of route permits en masse in the state will be avoided. A letter has been sent to the MLAs in this regard. Strict action will be taken against those who drive the vehicle after disconnecting the speed governor. A special team is working to disconnect the speed governor. They will be arraigned in criminal cases. If the company does this, their dealership will be cancelled. Checking of speed governors will continue across the state. The minister said the cause of accident was not overload but over speed.The minister said the salary arrears of KSRTC employees will be disbursed soon. The minister said talks are being held with the chief minister on the payment of salaries to employees in the beginning of the month.Meanwhile, the transport department is preparing to launch the service of KSRTC premium buses before Onam. Premium services aim to provide long-distance travel with better facilities for the passengers.The fully air-conditioned bus will provide Wi-Fi facility to the passengers along with the facility to purchase snacks and water. The bus is equipped with 35 pushback seats with seat belts, foot rest and mobile charging ports. 40 premium carriages are purchased in this way.
