Nyalkal Mandal Development Officer Naresh Kumar said that the role of ward members is crucial in rural development. A 5-day training program for the newly elected Gram Panchayat ward members of the mandal was inaugurated on Monday at the conference hall of the Nyalkal MPDO office, the mandal headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Panchayat Raj system has given ward members crucial responsibilities. He suggested that they should be proactive in identifying and resolving problems in the wards. He said that efforts should be made to ensure that the welfare schemes and development programs implemented by the government reach the people.
He said that the ward members are being educated through master trainers on issues such as the Panchayat Raj Act, the management of Gram Sabhas, financial affairs, implementation of development schemes, record management, etc. He asked the ward members to take advantage of the training classes. Mandal Panchayat Officer Soujanya and others participated in this meeting.
