Top leaders of India Block were present in the swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren

Ranchi: Hemant Soren has taken oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered him the oath of office and secrecy at 4:10 pm in a grand ceremony held at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi.

Hemant Soren has become the first politician to become CM for the fourth time in Jharkhand. The alliance of JMM, Congress, RJD and CPIML led by him has won a two-thirds majority with victory on 56 seats in the elections held on 13 and 20 November. Many top leaders of India Block were present on the stage in the swearing-in ceremony. These included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC President Mamata Banerjee, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Samajwadi Party President and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Apart from these, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, CPI (ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Karnataka Deputy CM DK. Shivkumar, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar MP Rajiv Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, MP Raghav Chadha attended the ceremony. Hemant Soren’s father and JMM President Shibu Soren and mother Roopi Soren and Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren were also present on the stage. Including Hemant Soren, a total of seven politicians have reached the Chief Minister’s chair in Jharkhand so far. These include Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Shibu Soren, Madhu Koda, Raghuvar Das and Champai Soren.

Before Soren’s swearing-in, colorful cultural programs were also organized at the venue, in which folk artists from different parts of Jharkhand displayed their art. After the swearing-in, Hemant Soren left for the Jharkhand Ministry located in Project Bhawan. The first cabinet meeting is to be held here.
