Tamil Nadu | In order to provide relief to people from inflation in Tamil Nadu, Food and Consumer Protection Department Minister Periyakaruppan said that tomatoes will be sold at Rs 68 per kg to check prices and also warned of strict action against hoarders. Please inform that the prices of tomatoes have gone up to Rs.100. In many places it is available for more than 100 rupees.
“To control the price, on the advice of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, tomatoes will be sold at Farm Fresh Outlets (FFOs) which are functioning under the cooperative department,” the minister said in a release.
Minister Periyakaruppan said that to bring relief to the poor and middle class people, tomatoes will be sold at Farm Fresh Outlets (FFOs) across Tamil Nadu to control tomato prices. Tomato will be sold at Rs 68 per kg in FFO. Tomatoes are being taken to sell at Rs 60 per kg in FFO.
Tomatoes will be available in Chennai at 27 FFO and Coimbatore at 10 FFO, Trichy at 1 mobile FFO, Trichy at 1 mobile FFO and Madhurai at 4 FFO. Similarly tomatoes will be available on FFO in Salem, Tuticorin, Tiruvannamalai, Tirunelveli, Tanjore, Tiruppur, Vellore and other districts.
