Tollywood’s 1000 Crore Club: 2026 Hopes Rest on These Films

The 1000 crore club, which was once a dream, has now become a common target for Tollywood. With films like ‘Baahubali’, ‘RRR’, ‘Pushpa’, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ earning more than a thousand crores, it can be said that Tollywood’s average target at the Indian box office has now become 2000 crores. Now, SSMB 29 (Varanasi), Allu Arjun’s 26th film, is getting more hype and is being promoted with a target of 3000 crores. But the surprising thing is… in 2025, not a single 1000 crore film came from Tollywood.

All the films released after Sankranthi failed to make the expected impact. Despite the huge expectations, Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’, which was released pan India, failed to achieve the expected results at the box office. Even after that, there was no film released in that range, and many films were limited to the regional market. The only big success of this year is ‘Sankranthiki Yaalaaam’. Although it did not release pan India, the film collected almost 300 crores in the regional market. Venkatesh’s image and Anil’s mark as a family entertainer connected well with the audience.

The real question is… Will there be another 1000 crore film from Tollywood in 2026? That means yes, the talk is definitely heard. There are huge expectations in the industry circles on Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s ‘Peddhi’. This film will be released in Pan India in March. Similarly, ‘The Rajasaab’ starring darling Prabhas will be released in front of the audience as a Sankranthi gift. This suspense comedy thriller, directed by Maruthi, is being released in Pan India keeping Prabhas’ image in mind. Promotional programs have already started. But will these films enter the 1000 crore club? It is difficult to say right now. The key is how much the content connects with the North Belt audience, especially. If it clicks there like ‘Pushpa’, the box office is sure to be overwhelmed with collections.

Another big film starring Prabhas, ‘Fauji’, is also set to hit the screens this year. There are huge expectations across India on this period action drama being directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. It is said that there is more hype on this film than ‘Peddhi’. If we look at the past statistics… it is clear that any pan India film from Tollywood can only enter the 1000 crore club if it collects at least 200 crores from the North Belt. And it remains to be seen who will repeat that magic in 2026.
