Toilet cleaning system will be improved at a cost of one crore

Gyanpur (Bhadohi). Another important step is being taken to improve sanitation in the district. The district’s second Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) will be established in Piparis village, Bhadohi tehsil area, at a cost of approximately ₹1 crore. Once this plant is operational, sewage from community toilets will be scientifically disposed of. The compost produced will also be used. The establishment of this FSTP is planned under a program proposed by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (Jal Shakti). The administration has identified land for this purpose. District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar directed the tehsil administration to provide land for the plant’s construction. Following this, the site in Piparis village was selected. This plant, being built under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), aims to strengthen sanitation in rural areas. The FSTP will collect sewage from community toilets and other locations and treat it using modern technology. Once the process is complete, it will produce organic fertilizer that can be used for various purposes. According to officials, the construction of the FSTP will provide significant relief to gram panchayats. Currently, many panchayats have to incur separate expenses for toilet cleaning and sewage disposal. Once the plant is operational, this system will become simpler and less expensive. Furthermore, the problem of open defecation will also be controlled. This will be the second fecal sludge treatment plant in Bhadohi district. Previously, the process of installing an FSTP was initiated in Bhagwas village of Gyanpur block. Now, with the establishment of the second plant in Piparis village of Bhadohi block, more areas of the district will benefit from it. Given the increasing population and the number of community toilets in rural areas, sewage management is becoming a major challenge. In such a situation, plants like FSTPs will play a vital role in environmental protection and sanitation. Through these, wastewater and sewage can be disposed of scientifically without causing any harm. The administration believes that the completion of this project will give the district’s sanitation campaign a new impetus. Sanitation systems at the Panchayat level will improve, and villagers will directly benefit. The construction of the plant is also expected to create employment opportunities. Local residents have also welcomed the project. They say that the availability of modern technology-based sanitation facilities in the village will improve the environment. Now, residents are hopeful that construction work will begin soon, and the FSTP to be built in Piparis village will set a new example in the district’s sanitation system.
