Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has opened the application process for the Group 1 Recruitment Examination 2026 on June 30th. Candidates aspiring to join the state’s prestigious administrative services can now submit their applications through the official online portal. According to the schedule released by the Commission, the last date for application is July 29th.
TNPSC had already released the notification for this recruitment as per its annual examination calendar. Now that the application process has begun, interested candidates must complete the application by filling in all the required information within the deadline. Applications will be accepted only online.
A total of 26 vacant posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. These include important positions such as Deputy Collector, Assistant Commissioner, District Registrar, and Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies. These positions are considered crucial in the Tamil Nadu government’s administrative system and attract a large number of applicants each year.
The Commission has stated that candidates can pay the application fee through various online channels. This time, candidates are also given the option to pay their examination fees through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This will make fee payment easier and more convenient for candidates than before.
According to the TNPSC schedule, the Group 1 preliminary examination will be held on September 6th. Candidates who qualify in this examination will be eligible to appear in the next stage, the main examination. The date of the main examination has not yet been announced. The Commission has stated that the detailed schedule for the main examination will be released separately later.
The Group 1 examination is considered one of the most prestigious competitive examinations in Tamil Nadu. It is used to recruit officers in various administrative departments of the state government. Candidates’ qualifications and abilities are evaluated at various stages of the selection process.
Applicants are advised to carefully read all the guidelines provided in the official notification before filling out the application form. With the commencement of this recruitment process, thousands of competitive students in the state are now focused on preparing for the examination. Successful candidates in the preliminary examination will then undergo a further selection process, after which the final selection will be made.
