Chennai: The second round of counselling for engineering aspirants in Tamil Nadu will begin on August 10. In the first round of counselling, 12,747 students were given provisional allotment of seats and colleges of their choice as per the merit list. Students who participated in the first round of counselling and got provisional allotment will report to colleges on Wednesday (today) to complete the admission process, Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) sources said on Tuesday.
A senior DoTE official said: “Students securing cut-off marks of 178.9 to 142 will participate in the second round of counselling. This is a crucial period as many candidates may drop out if they do not get the course and college of their choice. 77,948 students are eligible to participate in the second round.” Students who have registered their choice of admission (course and college) will get provisional allotment on August 13. “After the student’s confirmation, provisional allotment will be done on August 15,” the official said. “The third and final round of counselling for students who have scored cut-off marks between 141 to 77.50 will be held from August 23-25.”
