Bhubaneswar: The Tiger census to be conducted from October in two phases in Odisha, informed senior forest department official.
The census will continue for around one and half months in two phases via camera trapping and transact analysis.
As per the last Central census statistics, the number of tigers in the country has increased to 3,167 in 2022 from 2,967 in 2018.
In the year 2006, Odisha had 45 tigers. The number came down to 32 in 2010. The number further came down to 28 in 2018.
