New Delhi: Three people died and four others were injured when a car lost control and crashed in Delhi. The car hit a divider, crossed the opposite carriageway and collided with a truck in southeast Delhi, police said on Sunday. Seven people in the car were returning from a wedding ceremony in Faridabad when the accident occurred on the Badarpur flyover. The deceased have been identified as Raj (21), Sanju (38) and Dinesh (22), residents of Sanjay Colony, Okhla. Police said that the condition of Ansul (18) is critical, while Neeraj (18), Ajit (28) and Vishal (28) are undergoing treatment. All of them are residents of the same area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Dev said a call regarding the incident was received at Badarpur police station at 12:48 pm on Saturday. The DCP said, “At Badarpur flyover, the Maruti Alto car driver lost control and hit the divider and then went onto the opposite carriageway where it collided with a truck. All seven people were shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre.” DCP said that all of them had gone to attend the wedding reception of their relative Sohan Lal, a resident of Faridabad.
