Three killed, 9 injured in Israeli air attack

Beirut: Three civilians were killed and nine wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the village of Kharbet Selm in the south of the country, according to Lebanese military officials. The deceased were members of the same family. The injured have been admitted to Tebnin Government Hospital. Israel carried out 15 airstrikes on nine towns and villages in southern Lebanon on Saturday, Xinhua news agency reported. During this period, eight houses were destroyed and 28 others were damaged.
In retaliation, Hezbollah said it launched attacks on several Israeli military sites, including al-Malikiyah, Zebedin, al-Ramtha, Hunin and al-Baghdadi. It is noteworthy that tension increased on the Lebanon-Israel border on October 8 last year, when the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets towards Israel in support of Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7. In response, Israel opened fire in southeastern Lebanon. According to Lebanese security sources, the clashes between Hezbollah and Israel have so far left 348 people dead on the Lebanese side.
