New Delhi: Ever since the Pakistan-linked terrorists attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 which claimed lives of 26 innocent tourists, the tension between India and Pakistan escalated with both the nations taking action against each other.
In view of the terrorists attack, the Indian government has issued a ‘Leave India’ notice for the Pakistani nationals by revoking all categories of existing valid visas issued to them, even their medical visas will be valid only till April 29, 2025.
In the wake of the Indian government’s decision, the Pakistani nationals have started to leave the county gradually and it is expected that each and every Pakistani would meet the deadline of April 29.
In case the Pakistani nationals who fail to leave India by April 29 will face stricter action as per the rules of India. As per the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, they might be either arrested for three years or pay a fine of Rs 3 lakh.
“Whoever, (a) being a foreigner, remains in any area in India for a period exceeding the period for which the visa was issued to him, stays in India without a valid passport or other valid travel document in contravention of provisions of Section 3, or does any act in violation of the conditions of the valid visa issued to him for his entry and stay in India or any part thereunder,” says the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 which came into effect on April 4, 2025.
“(b) contravenes any other provisions of this Act, other than sections 17 and 19, or of any rule or order made thereunder, or any direction or instruction given in pursuance of this Act or such order or direction or instruction for which no specific punishment is provided under this Act, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with a fine which may extend to three lakh rupees, or with both.”
