There has been a historic increase in the salaries of senior residents and professors of government medical colleges

Regarding this, the Health Department has taken a big decision under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and on the instructions of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. Under this decision, an order has been issued for a historic increase in the salary of Senior Resident and Demonstrator (PG), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Government Medical Colleges. According to the order issued by the Medical Education Department of Chhattisgarh Government, the salary of the professor posted in the medical college of non-scheduled areas has been increased from Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand to Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand. Similarly, the salary of Associate Professor has been increased from 1 lakh 35 thousand to 1 lakh 55 thousand, Assistant Professor from 90 thousand to 1 lakh and Senior Resident and Demonstrator (PG) from 65 thousand rupees to 75 thousand rupees.

According to the order issued, the salary of Professor posted in Medical Colleges of Scheduled Areas has been increased from 1 lakh 90 thousand rupees to 2 lakh 25 thousand rupees. Similarly, the salary of Associate Professor has been increased from 1 lakh 55 thousand to 1 lakh 85 thousand, Assistant Professor from 90 thousand to 1 lakh 25 thousand and Senior Resident and Demonstrator (PG) from 65 thousand rupees to 95 thousand rupees.

According to the revised contract pay scale issued for contract doctors of government medical colleges, salary has been increased by about 46 percent in scheduled areas and about 23 percent in non-scheduled areas. Regarding this historic salary hike, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has said that there will be no compromise on the expansion of health facilities in the state. He said that the future doctors studying in government medical colleges have the right to get good quality teachers and education and this order of salary hike clearly shows the intention of the state government to work in the field of health.
