Mysuru (IANS) | The Karnataka Police has arrested the grandson of a 75-year-old woman for her murder. Police said on Friday that the investigation revealed that after committing the murder, the accused had roamed the whole day keeping the dead body in his car. The arrested grandson has been identified as 23-year-old Supreet, a resident of Gayathripuram Layout, Mysore. The deceased is Sulochana (75), an elderly woman.

On May 30, police found the body of an elderly woman near Sagarkatte village in Mysore taluk. The body was badly burnt and could not be identified. Police collected hair samples and spectacles from the spot and have started investigation.

Investigating officers found similarities between the details of a missing case registered at Nazarbad police station in Mysore city, where the grandson was the complainant.

During interrogation, the police suspected the grandson. After much interrogation, he accepted his crime.

The accused told the police that his grandmother used to scold him often. On May 28, there was a tussle between the two. The accused assaulted his grandmother and killed her by pressing her face with a pillow.

Later, the body was wrapped in a plastic cover and kept in a carton box. Supreet watched a Korean web series to learn how to dispose of dead bodies. The accused kept the dead body in the car and took it near the KRS dam and set it on fire.

The accused had told the police that he had driven the car throughout the day, in which his grandmother’s body was lying, and had even gone to the police station to lodge a missing complaint in the same vehicle, keeping the body inside.
