Tamil Nadu: AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has condemned the need for proper steps to control the circulation of marijuana among school students.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday:
The news of a Plus One student in a Chennai government school being found with marijuana is shocking.
The AIADMK government provided laptops to Plus One students in government schools to ensure they received a good education. However, under the DMK government, marijuana has become the drug of choice.
By allowing drug abuse to continue unchecked, the DMK government has committed a great betrayal against the future of Tamil Nadu. These actions of the DMK government, which will completely corrupt the youth and school students, are reprehensible.
He posted that the DMK government should conduct a thorough investigation into how the school student obtained the drugs and should take concrete steps to at least control the circulation of drugs during the remaining two years of its term.
Naina Nagendran (BJP): The incident of a Plus One student in a government higher secondary school in Vyasarpadi, Chennai, carrying marijuana to school is an example of the unfortunate rule of the DMK government. Tamil Nadu will only breathe a sigh of relief when this government, which has taken no steps to eradicate the drug trade that is destroying our social fabric, is removed.
