Business Business: The stock market closed with a decline today. Sensex and Nifty opened with gains this morning. But after some time the stock market lost this leadership. On the last trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 77,378.91, down 0.31 percent or 241.30 points. At the same time, Nifty closed at 23,431.50, down 0.40 percent or 95 points.
Even in this bearish environment, TCS shares registered a rise. The company’s shares rose 5.67 percent.

Today at one time the Sensex fell more than 350 points. The intraday low of the Sensex was 77,099.55 and the intraday low of the Nifty was 23,344.35. The stock market got off to a strong start on the last trading day of the week. Sensex and Nifty opened with gains. National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened at 23,551.90 today. After opening, Nifty closed at 23,569.80 with a gain of 43.30 points or 0.18 per cent. As far as Sensex is concerned, after opening at 77,682.59, it was trading at 77,841.61, up 221.40 points or 0.29 per cent. TCS shares registered a gain of over 4 per cent this morning.
