The Puducherry state government has banned the sale of 3 tablets.

Tamil Nadu: The government on Monday banned the sale of three tablets in Puducherry because they did not meet the prescribed standards.

E. Anandakrishnan, an officer with the Puducherry Drug Control Department, issued an order in this regard.

The sale of three tablets, described as treating intestinal problems, has been banned: Macbenso 40, manufactured by Nonis Pharmaceuticals in Sirur, Himachal Pradesh; Paracetamol 650 mg, manufactured by Aban Pharmaceuticals in Bhavia district, Kerala; and Sanga Vati 5 g, manufactured by Karnani Pharmaceuticals in Bhavi, Rajasthan.

These tablets should not be sold in pharmacies. The order also states that pharmacies should report stock positions to the Drug Control Department. Once this information is provided, the stock should be returned to the manufacturers.
