The person who stole nuts worth 65 lakhs has been arrested. He had committed the crime in 2015.

Durg. Police has arrested Ravi Soni, the accused who was absconding for 10 years in the case of theft of iron (nuts) worth Rs 65 lakh from Bhilai Steel Plant. Ravi along with his 4 friends had stolen 5 nuts from BSP’s plate mill area spare yard. 4 accused in this case have already been arrested.

The nuts that were stolen were industrial nuts. The weight of one nut was 4674 kg. These nuts are used in big plants, they were ordered for installation in the plate mill. Bhilai Nagar CSP Satya Prakash Tiwari said that this theft case is of 23 June 2015. DGM of plate mill in Bhilai Steel Plant, Gahan Sen Gupta had lodged a complaint in the Bhatti police station. He had told that someone had stolen 5 nuts worth Rs 65 lakhs from the plate mill area spare yard of Bhilai Steel Plant. Bhati police had registered a case under sections 379, 447, 467, 468, 471, 120B, 34 and began investigation. During investigation, the police told that the theft was committed in truck no. CG 07 AV 2670. The police seized the truck. In investigation, it was found that the accused prepared a fake challan and entered Bhilai Steel Plant illegally. Then they stole 5 nuts from the plate mill spare yard of the plant premises.
