Raipur. The education department has said that the claims made by some organizations and individuals that thousands of schools will be closed due to rationalization are completely misleading and baseless. The school education department has said that the reality is completely different from this. The rationalization process issued by the state government is not aimed at stopping anyone’s studies, but to ensure the quality of education and better use of resources.
Out of the total 10,463 schools in the state, only 166 schools will be adjusted. Out of these 166 schools, there are 133 schools in rural areas, in which the number of students is less than 10 and another school is operating within a kilometer. Similarly, there are 33 schools in urban areas, in which the number of students is less than 30 and another school is operating within a radius of 500 meters. For this reason, 166 schools are being adjusted for the purpose of better education, this will not affect the education of children in any situation. The remaining 10,297 schools will remain fully operational. Necessary adjustments are being made in them only at the administrative and educational level. The use of school buildings will continue as before and teachers will also be available wherever required. It is important to clarify here that “adjustment” and “closure” of schools are different things. Adjustment means using better resources by integrating nearby schools. Its purpose is to provide better education to children, not to close schools. The education department has appealed to the people to be cautious of rumours. The truth is that the state government is engaged in strengthening schools, increasing the quality of studies and making a strong system to provide better education to every child.
Initiative to strengthen the education system
Actually, the Chhattisgarh government is rationalizing schools and teachers to improve the quality of education in urban and rural areas of the state. Its purpose is to ensure better use of resources and teachers where the need is greater. Those schools which are not able to provide proper education due to less students should be adjusted with nearby good schools, so that children can get better environment, resources and equal opportunity to study. This will provide children with more qualified and subject-specific expert teachers. Facilities like library, lab, computer etc. will be available in schools. Schools with shortage of teachers will now get adequate teachers. Students in schools which earlier had only a few students will now be able to go to good schools nearby and get better education. This change will improve the level of education in both rural and urban areas. The intention of the government is clear, every child should get good and quality education. This is the reason why the government is ensuring that teachers are deployed not just according to numbers but according to needs. The Chhattisgarh Education Department believes that this step is not just an administrative reform but a solid change in the field of education, which will provide a strong foundation to the coming generation.
