Narayanpur. Police have arrested 6 accused of murder of Congress leader Vikram Bais in Narayanpur. The accused had committed the murder over prior enmity. Manish Rathore, the mastermind of the murder, is still absconding. The pistol, Gandasa, two-wheeler, mobile phones of the accused etc. used in the incident were seized. The accused were arrested in a joint action by Narayanpur, Durg, Raipur and Bilaspur police.
Today, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar said in a press conference at the SP office that on the night of 13th May, Congress leader Vikram Bais, resident of Bakhrupara Narayanpur, was murdered with a sharp weapon and bullet. On Monday night he was returning from the dhaba after having dinner. The bike-borne assailants opened fire on him when he was about 500 meters outside his house. On the report of applicant Pramod Nailwal, an FIR and First Information Report was registered in Narayanpur police station.
Considering the seriousness of the case, separate teams were formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar. On the basis of detailed interrogation, CCTV footage and cyber analysis, the name of Manish Rathore resident of Narayanpur came to light. The pistol used in the murder was brought from Siwan district of Bihar.
Reiki of the deceased was done by the accused for two days before the incident was carried out. On the day of the incident, after finding the deceased Vikram Bais alone, the accused Sanju Yadav and Vishwajit Nag together killed him by attacking him with a Gandasa and shooting him with a pistol. The pistol used in the incident was hidden in the warehouse of Manish Rathore. An offense under section 302, 34 IPC was registered in Narayanpur police station. In this case, information was collected regarding the accused with the help of ACCU team and cyber team of Durg, Raipur and Bilaspur. On this basis, the mystery of blind murder has been solved and the accused are being arrested and sent on remand. During the interrogation, a case of threatening journalists in the district was also revealed, in which a threatening letter was written by Manish Rathore and posted by Vishwajit Nag. The same gang was also doing the work of terrorizing people in the district by sending threatening letters to the President of Kishore Arya Transport Association and sending threatening banners and letters in the name of Naxalites.
The arrested accused include Vishwajeet Nag Narayanpur, Sandeep Yadav alias Sanju Durg, Rajeev Ranjan Yeti alias Raju alias Bihari Durg, R. Samuel alias Rayanuntalam Durg, Jaspreet Singh alias Potu Narayanpur, Vivek Adhikari alias Sidam Narayanpur. In solving the mystery of blind murder, mainly the ACCU team of district Durg, Raipur and Bilaspur and inspector-station in-charge Dinesh Chandra from district Narayanpur, sub-inspector Dhirendra Tiwari, Suni Rumant Dewangan in-charge cyber cell and cyber cell Narayanpur had important contributions.
